Sheology reaches 1,000,000 monthly users in Ireland

Celebrations at Sheology HQ, Ireland`s leading digital publishing agency are in full swing today, as the company announces the country’s biggest pure digital female reach of 1,000,000 unique users per month. Sheology is home to three female Irish sites – MummyPages.ie, MagicMum.com, SHEmazing.net – whose combined monthly Irish unique visitor numbers now exceeds one million. Sheology boasts a further million unique visitors to its MummyPages.co.uk site bringing their total online female reach to 2 million in the UK and Ireland.

The female focused company responsible for bringing three of the fastest growing online platforms to the Irish digital media market was founded by husband and wife team – Sandra and Cormac McKenna – in 2009. Last December, the company revealed details of its three year expansion strategy which plans to focus on new markets and product development. Over the next three years, the company plans to employ thirty additional people in marketing, editorial and tech roles with ten of these positions already filled since the start of the year. Sheology is also looking ahead with plans to add new properties to their growing portfolio and further develop market opportunities in overseas markets.

The digital media industry has experience huge growth in recent years due to the increased usage in digital devices changing the media consumption habits of the Irish population. Sheology has experienced huge growth in the past year due to companies and brands piggybacking this trend and moving more and more of its marketing activities to online media properties.

Cormac McKenna, co-founder of Sheology explains why brands are moving towards digital platforms, “Up to recently, media wastage was a big issue, with so many marketers having to spend up to twice as much just to reach their female target. We address that with our digital properties by offer niche profiling services to our clients while delivering tangible results.”

The company’s hugely popular and successful online media portfolio consists of MummyPages, MagicMum and SHEmazing! In 2009, MummyPages.ie started as a blog and within a few years MummyPages.ie has transformed into Ireland’s largest online community of mums from all over Ireland engaging with mums on everything from pre-pregnancy, to parenting and family life. Last year, MagicMum became part of Sheology’s portfolio giving the company a combined ‘apron string’ reach of 740,000 children via their mums.

The newest addition to Sheology’s portfolio, SHEmazing.net was launched in 2013. In a short space of time, the modern website with a slightly younger female audience than the mum sites is already Ireland’s fastest growing celebrity, fashion, beauty and entertainment news website. Early in 2014, SHEmazing! TV was launched, adding exclusive video content to the site contributing to its ongoing success.
